PLATELET-RICH PLASMA THERAPY (PRP)

At Renew Skin Clinic, we also combine Medical Microneedling with PRP from the patient’s own body to create optimal results for Skin rejuvenation and Hair restoration.

Prior to treatment, a small sample of the patient’s own blood is spun in a centrifuge, where the red blood cells and the plasma are separated. The plasma (liquid portion of the blood) is infused with a high concentration of platelets during this process. While primarily responsible for clotting the blood, platelets also contain growth factors that can aid in the regeneration of skin and tissues.

Medical Microneedling penetrates the skin which causes micro injures or micro channels which allows to better absorb the product. After the skin is needled, our medical team gently palpates PRP over treated areas, infusing it into the skin for maximum absorbency.

Once infused into the skin of treated areas, the PRP works by helping the skin generate new cells. It can also help improve skin circulation, restoring a natural glow.

Is PRP with Medical Microneedling Safe?

Medical Microneedling is proven to be safe for most patients and skin types, with the most common side effect being a flushed or red appearance skin to a sunburn. As PRP is created from the patient’s own body, it is easily recognized and processed without major complications. Some contraindicated medical conditions may require further evaluation before treatment is approved, which will be discussed by our medical team during your consultation.

Possible side effects include:

Redness, irritation, pin-point bleeding, heat sensation, itchiness, and swelling with most side effects subsiding within 24-48 hours.

PRP for Hair Restoration (Platelet Rich Plasma):

PRP for hair restoration uses innovative platelet rich plasma (PRP) technology whereby a clients’ own blood is drawn to extract the PRP and then combined with Medical Microneedling into the scalp where hair loss/thinning is present. Platelets are the component of our blood that contain multiple growth factors and nutrients. This procedure stimulates new growth for the hair.

When do you see improvement? Although, you will start to see improvement in hair texture, thickness of hair shaft and growth of new hairs in the treated area within 6-8 weeks after treatment .

It usually takes 4-6 months to see measurable results from your initial treatment

Treatment recommended:

PRP therapy typically consists of three treatments in a 4–6 week period, with maintenance treatments every 4–6 months but you have to remember results are different with each person . We always have to assess the results after the first treatment to determine how many session is really needed.
